Ruukki has opened a new line of mineral wool sandwich panels in Oborniki, Poland

Ruukki Construction and its representative office in Bulgaria R.K.I. Bulgaria today celebrates the opening of a new production line for sandwich panels in Oborniki, Poland. The investment of around EUR 5 million supports Ruukki´s growth strategy by further improving the company´s safety and productivity, as well as improving the technical properties of the products produced. Deliveries to customers from the new production line will begin in the third quarter of 2022.
Ruukki offers components for industrial buildings, sandwich panels, profiled sheets, high profiles and low profiles trapezoidal sheet metal. The new production line in Oborniki complements the current portfolio of the company for the production of wall and roof systems, enabling the production and supply of more modern mineral wool sandwich panels.

The investment will help us improve customer service by streamlining production and adapting our products to better meet the special needs of customers in the region, said Adam Korol, Senior Vice President, Building Envelopes, Ruukki Construction.
"The new state-of-the-art production line with automated functions will help us improve the efficiency and safety of our factories. We are confident that customers will be impressed by the improved thermal properties, higher fire resistance and mechanical strength of the more innovative sandwich panels produced on the new line, ”said Lukasz Zakrzewski, plant manager at Oborniki, Ruukki.
Ruukki´s Oborniki plant is located about 40 km from Poznań and employs about 200 people. The plant produces sandwich panels that are used for exterior and interior walls and roofs of warehouses, logistics centers, manufacturing plants, offices and shopping centers. Sandwich panels with a core of mineral wool or PIR (polyisocyanurate) provide a durable, airtight and energy efficient envelope for all types of buildings. In addition to Oborniki, Ruukki manufactures sandwich panels in Alajärvi, Finland.
The project is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund as part of the Operational Program Smart Growth 2014-2020.
In Bulgaria and Serbia, Ruukki products are offered by R.K.I. Bulgaria Ltd., thanks to which Bulgarian investors have access to high quality products and technological solutions developed in Finland.
